Initially inspired by African a capella singing, this piece came into being through a competition I held with my own string group, to think of a title for a new piece! “Razimbo” later became a tiger and suitable song words were written! In swing rhythm, it begins with a slow unaccompanied introduction, then breaks out into a fast, punchy and jazzy second section with syncopated rhythms. A real winner with both players and audiences.
